Cold working tool steels: hardness and resistance to wear

These materials offer exceptional hardness and superior resistance to wear, thus assuring a long service life for tools under continual stress. Their chemical composition has been optimised to maintain dimensional stability and tight tolerances, both critical characteristics for precise machining. What is more, their tenacity allows them to handle impacts and stress without failure.

Their excellent workability greatly facilitates the fabrication of complex tools, making them ideal for sectors like metalworking, mould and die fabrication and mechanical engineering.

115CrV3 - 1.2210 steel

115CrV3 – 1.2210 steel is a tool steel alloyed with chrome and vanadium per EN ISO standards, widely used in the fabrication of precision tools for cold working applications.

100MnCrW4 - 1.2510 steel

100MnCrW4 – 1.2510 steel is a tool steel alloyed with manganese, chrome and tungsten per EN ISO standards, known for its outstanding resistance to wear and dimensional stability in cold working applications.

100WV4 - 1.2515 steel

100WV4 – 1.2515 steel is a tool steel alloyed with tungsten and vanadium per EN ISO standards, known for its excellent resistance to wear and ability to maintain an edge.

120WV4 - 1.2516 steel

120WV4 – 1.2516 steel is a tool steel alloyed with tungsten and vanadium per EN ISO standards, with a high carbon content which makes it highly resistant to wear.

90MnV8 - 1.2842 steel

90MnV8 – 1.2842 steel is a tool steel alloyed with manganese and vanadium per EN ISO standards, known for its good tenacity and resistance to wear, often used for dies, moulds and forming tools.

X100CrMoV5 1 - 1.2363 steel

X100CrMoV5 1 – 1.2363 steel is a tool steel alloyed with chrome, molybdenum and vanadium per EN ISO standards, known for its high resistance to wear and compression, used for punches, dies and rollers.

X155CrMoV12 1 - 1.2379 steel

X155CrMoV12 1 – 1.2379 steel is a tool steel alloyed with chrome, molybdenum and vanadium per EN ISO standards, known for its very high resistance to wear, ideally suited to shearing dies, deep drawing and cold rolling.

X210Cr12 - 1.2080 steel

X210Cr12 – 1.2080 steel is a tool steel alloyed with chrome per EN ISO standards, with a very high carbon and chrome content which gives it outstanding resistance to wear and compression, widely used for shearing and stamping dies.
